The NK Institute: Offering Up to Date Kinesiology Degree Programs and Courses in Australia

When we started the NK Institute in 2008, we did so with the goal of giving students a high level of training in kinesiology. At the time, the Certificate IV and Kinesiology and the Diploma in Kinesiology were both new qualifications. Our principal, Hugo Tobar, had been providing kinesiology training in Australia for a decade at this point. His experience made him a good candidate to build a program dedicated to providing top tier kinesiology degree programs in Australia.

Almost a decade later, the landscape of kinesiology training in Australia continues to shift and evolve. Today, the minimum requirement for a qualification in kinesiology is the Diploma. Thanks to rising standards in the kinesiology industry and new regulations from the government, more is expected from kinesiology degree courses today than when the NK Institute started.

Rather than stall out or rest on our laurels, though, we have continued to grow and change with the industry. If you are interested in pursuing a kinesiology degree, you can rely on the NK Institute to provide training that is up to date and compliant with the latest standards and regulations. In fact, we have gone above and beyond compliance, offering advanced kinesiology degree programs for students who wish to expand upon their Diploma qualifications.

Our Advanced Kinesiology Degree Programs

At the NK Institute, we offer four different qualification levels in kinesiology. The first kinesiology degree, of course, is the aforementioned Diploma of Kinesiology. This program is a three-year qualification that encompasses 600 hours of face-to-face kinesiology training, independent study leaning and 200 hours of mentoring and supervision. The 600 hours of training will teach students core kinesiology techniques. The independent learning time, meanwhile, is meant to allow additional study into other areas for creating a successful health service. The mentoring, finally, is meant to help students become comfortable using kinesiology techniques for real-world patient interactions.

Taking the kinesiology degree courses associated with the Diploma of Kinesiology—as well as finishing your independent study and supervision time—will give you the qualification you need to practice kinesiology. However, if you want to learn advanced techniques and deepen your overall understanding of kinesiology, the NK Institute is the right place to study. In addition to the Diploma of Kinesiology, we have an advanced kinesiology degree program called Graduate Diploma.

Choosing the Right Kinesiology Qualification Pathway

If you only wish to obtain a Diploma of Kinesiology, that’s just fine. This qualification will enable you to work in the field of kinesiology, helping patients reduce their stress so that their bodies can heal themselves through natural processes. However, if you wish to do so, you can work through the full range of kinesiology qualifications offered at the NK Institute. Starting with introductory kinesiology degree courses, you can gradually work your way up to the Graduate Diploma—currently the most advanced kinesiology program in the world.

At the NK Institute, we would be happy to advise you on which pathway might be best for you. To speak with a representative, call us on 1300 556 029.
